Avaocado brownies are great as quick healthy dessert option or a healthy snack and if you love to bake then you’ll find yourself baking it over and over again.

When used for baking, avocados are tasteless, but make for an extra juicy texture. Juicy chocolatey brownies are just delicious in general, aren’t they? But they don’t always have to be made with just the standard ingredients like chocolate, butter, flour, sugar,… Avocado brownies are a great variation of brownies. Just give it a try. However, it is important that the avocado is already ripe. Not mushy, but just no longer hard and totally tasteless. Avocados also provide a certain amount of fat, which is somehow part of brownies. Just that in this recipe it comes not only from the butter. So it’s definitely a little healthier. For the chocolate chips, dark chocolate chips are recommended. For the cacao powder, you should use raw cacao powder / baking cacao and not cacao powder that has already been mixed with sugar and is used for mixing in milk.

Preheat oven to 160°C and line a pan with parchment paper.

Mix together all ingredients and pour into the pan.

Sprinkle some chocolate chips on top and bake for 40 minutes.

Let cool completely and then cut into squares.

Finish with a sprinkle of Maldon / regular salt on top.

  • 1 cup coconut sugar
  • 2 tbsp cashew butter
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips
